Carole has been working in the Beauty, Hairdressing, Complementary Therapy and Sports and Fitness sectors since the age of 19.
At 16 she left school and went on to study Hotel Catering and Operational Management. She knew this wasn’t exactly what she wanted to do and subsequently enrolled on a course at the Abraham Moss Centre where she gained a Higher National Diploma in Beauty Therapy.
When she completed her studies she moved to London and worked in a busy High Street Salon and Spa where she progressed from Therapist to Spa Manager. She then went on to set up her own Beauty Therapy business and decided to take her teaching qualifications in her spare time.
After working as a part-time lecturer and raising a family she moved into lecturing full time; teaching Beauty, Complementary Therapy and Sports and Fitness. She worked as a consultant setting up new businesses and also worked as a part-time examiner and World Skills Judge which took her around the world. She travelled extensively to Japan, South Africa, China, all over Europe to name but a few. Carole then became a Qualifications Development Manager, writing and developing qualifications for CIBTAC and then ITEC.
She has taught in FE and Private Colleges and is qualified as both an Examiner and EQA. When joining iTEC/VTCT she took up the role as a Business Development Manager for Hairdressing and Beauty Awarding and moved on to her current role as a Partnership Planning Manager, supporting centres by assisting with any aspect of the implementation of the curriculum.
