Within Ireland, the Hair and Beauty Industry is one of the fastest-growing sectors, yet it remains unregulated and unsupported. In response to this challenge that includes possible skills shortages and black market providers, an industry-led initiative has been launched – HABIC: Hair and Beauty Industry Confederation.
HABIC is an innovative, non-profit social enterprise providing industry support that empowers members nationally. HABIC responds to the aforementioned threats against the industry that could affect even the most high-profile businesses. In addition to contributing to sector growth, HABIC will draw attention to the “revolution” sparked in the industry.
The Hair and Beauty Industry provides many opportunities for individuals to improve their lives and HABIC embraces this vision. The HABIC strategy is simple: “HABIC will enhance the reputation of the industry, further improve industry quality and standards, provide increased learning and development opportunities for members, and help raise innovation, social awareness and professional competencies.”
