Entries are now open for the prestigious 2019 Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) Excellence Awards.

The FHT is the leading professional association for therapists, with thousands of members offering a broad range of specialism – from complementary healthcare, to sports and remedial therapies and holistic beauty treatments.
The awards recognise how professional therapists are making a difference, in areas ranging from the provision of tailored learning and support to the next generation of budding therapists, to helping people in their local community improve their health and wellbeing through positive lifestyle changes and a range of therapies.

This year’s categories are:

• Complementary Therapist of the Year
• Sports Therapist of the Year
• Beauty Therapist of the Year
• Student of the Year
• Tutor of the Year
• Local Group Coordinator of the Year

As well as gaining much deserved recognition for the services they provide, winners will receive a £250 personal cheque, an award trophy, special logo and certificate. Finalists will be published on the FHT website in July and the winners announced at a special FHT Conference, held at The King’s Fund, London, on 29 November, 2019.

Christopher Byrne, the FHT’s President, commented: ‘We regularly engage with our members and know the amazing work they are doing on a day-to-day basis. Our Excellence Awards are a great opportunity to celebrate these achievements.
‘Just as importantly, the awards are a key way of sharing real-life case studies beyond the treatment room door, so that the public and those working in health and care can see the true potential different therapies have to offer. These interventions can help the public to manage their own health and relieve some of the pressure currently experienced by those working in the NHS.

‘With personalised care at the very core of the NHS Long Term Plan, there has never been a better time to share examples of therapy training and practice at its best.’

The closing date for entries is 28 June 2019.
