Description
A qualification designed to demonstrate that the holder possesses the basic knowledge and understanding required to help them understand how business operates.
The qualification consists of 4 modules and covers:
- An Introduction to Business Structure & Law, which gives an introduction to the basics of business and the relevant legislation.
- An Introduction to Business Accounts shows how to understand business documents.
- Measuring Business Performance shows how to measure the success or failure of a business.
- Setting Prices and Understanding Costs; which shows how to control costs and how to set prices for profitability.
It is recommended that the qualification will take a minimum of 30 guided learning hours to deliver.
The qualification is designed to help:
- Individuals wishing to start up their own business.
- Managers and owner managers in Small and Medium sized Enterprises (SME’s)
- Middle and Senior managers in larger businesses, corporations, and local authorities.
- As additionality in college’s and other training establishments for existing vocational programmes. e.g. to develop business skills for hairdressers, beauticians, plumbers, saddlers etc.
