Before joining VTCT Gary served for 22 years in the Army and was concerned with controlling a team of External Verification Officers and acting as External Validation and Senior Training Officer for both the regular Army and the Reservists.

Gary was awarded the BEM in 1991 in recognition of Meritorious Military Service during an operational tour of duty.

Gary joined VTCT in 2000 and was one of the original team recruited when the VTCT head office was established in Eastleigh. The reason for the relocation was to have an office in close proximity to a variety of transport modes including Southampton Airport, Motorways and a direct train line to London. This was vital ensuring that the VTCT head office was accessible to support business growth and new opportunities at a time when the VTCT team was rapidly expanding.

Gary maintains his fitness and these days will tell you that he has been out jogging, after over 40 years of running.
