The Skills Show 2017 Winners Announced

Over 80,000 visitors attended the sixth annual Skills Show event at the NEC arena in Birmingham.
The three-day event brought together apprentices and students from across the UK to compete in 55 national skills competitions.

ITEC and VTCT are long-lasting sponsors of the WorldSkills UK Beauty Therapy regional and national heats.  ITEC recognises that WorldSkills is an exciting opportunity for learners in further education and apprenticeship programmes to showcase their talents, while also highlighting the vital importance of skills to economic growth in the UK.

Attendees were able to visit exhibitions and network with top employers; gaining careers advice from colleges and independent training providers.

Neil Bentley, CEO of WorldSkills UK, said: “This has been a wonderful showcase for UK skills.

“The competition was fierce and the standards very high – all the finalists have done brilliantly well just to get this far. All their hard work and dedication has been rewarded and we at WorldSkills UK salute you.”

The World Skills finals take place in Budapest and Kazan, Russia. Many of the winners have the opportunity to be considered to represent Team UK at the international finals.
